http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le%C3%B3n,_Le%C3%B3n ,I meet a gentleman, born in Sydney,Australia, not far from where I was born, around the same time, who represents a bodega, with a history.According to a pamphlet, this winery has a written record dating from 1697, when it belonged to the Dominican Order, before that a property of King Carlos II.After a long time, at the beguining of the XIX century, the possessions of the Church were given to individuals as a result of the Mendizabal http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_%C3%81lvarez_Mendiz%C3%A1bal disentailment. As, I go about my research,I discover that Juan de los Dios Mendizabal, was born on February 25, 1790 and was the son of Margarita Mendez, who was Jewish. He used another surname to hide his background and was a known Spanish economist and politician.By the way,my name originally was Margarita,as I come from a Spanish family, and I was born on February 25th in another century.
