L'Evangile dit : Nolite mittere margaritas ante porcos, ne jetez pas les perles aux pourceaux. Ce langage figuré signifie: N'essayez pas de faire sentir les beautés immatérielles à ceux qui sont appesantis par la matière.Margaritas ante porcos (des perles devant des pourceaux) est un proverbe fréquemment employé, surtout lorsqu'il est question d'œuvres d'art jugées par un public ignorant ou grossier.

Deux oisifs des boulevards s'étaient permis de suivre et d'interpeller deux dames qui rentraient à pied chez elles.
